The Black Friday sales week has been full of incredible discounts and prices. Many games such as ArcheAge, EVE Online, and Warframe have had great deals and sales in-game. But this article is about the recent discount on Civilization VI. Games Republic recently released a humongous 80% discount on the game.
After many saw on Games Republic that the price was that low for the new Sid Meier’s Civilization VI Deluxe Edition, people purchased the game ASAP. The discount was rather insanely good and missing out on it would be a huge waste.
Games Republic noticed the price and instantly realized that it must be a mistake. After that, they immediately attempted fixing the mistake. Games Republic posted an apology letter in which they explain what happened and what will happen to the players that have ordered the game. Those who ordered the game will get their money back soon. For the buyers that activated the game on Steam, the game will be removed and deactivated from your account.
They felt that the apology wasn’t enough because they wasted everyone’s time. To compensate that, they offered everyone involved a 25% discount on their next purchase. Besides that, they also get to keep Anomaly 2 that came with the game. Later, they stated that the mistake was hard to notice because of how many discounts there was during the week.
Unfortunately having such huge sale, with so many titles being discounted, there’s always a chance that something can go wrong – and in this case it went wrong.
These kind of things are inevitable and will happen. Games Republic did a good thing by gifting gamers discount codes and Anomaly 2. For more details about this, check out the post TechRaptor did.
