The HD remaster and re-release of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City for current-gen consoles has finally received a release date. Batman: Return to Arkham will hit shelves next month on October 18th, releasing on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Batman: Arkham Asylum takes you back to where it all began, as you head to the depths of the asylum to face off against Gotham’s most notorious villains such as The Joker, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow. Originally developed by Rocksteady studios, Batman: Arkham Asylum showcased a dark and atmospheric side to super hero games, and was soon followed up by a critically acclaimed sequel. Batman: Arkham City pushed further boundaries when it released in 2011. The game was built upon the same bleak and atmospheric foundation that had been established in Rocksteady’s previous entry, as players soared across the open-world environment of Arkham City. The game pitted players against the likes of Two Face, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, Harley Quinn and the returning Joker in an authentic experience of bringing dark justice to the villains of Gotham.
Having previously been announced earlier this year, Return to Arkham boasts improved graphics, upgraded models, environments, lighting and shaders. The remaster will retail at £39.99.
