One of the cool things that Kickstarter allows is for developers to make sequels to the media they love the most (within reason of course) and for video game developers this can be not only a godsend, but something fun and unique. For the team behind Lifeless Planet, they wanted to continue what their game did while still making something special. So, they’ve gone to Kickstarter to create Lifeless Moon, and you’re going to be surprised by how “lifeless” this place is.
Lifeless Moon is a “spiritual successor” to the original game, and it follows the adventures of two astronauts who are exploring the moon, only to find themselves in a town they recognize on it. Obviously, not everything is as it appears, and now they have to figure out what’s going on before it’s too late. There’s a lot of exploring in the game, which will allow you to see all kinds of beautiful (and creepy) landscapes. But there are also tons of puzzles to solve, even more so than the original game.
Additionally, as you explore you’ll be able to find audio logs (done by professional voice actors) that’ll add even more depth and context to the “world” you are seeing on the moon. And it’ll likely creep you out, so there’s that too.
Another interesting thing about Lifeless Moon is that it’ll have VR support. But don’t worry, if you don’t have VR you’ll still be able to enjoy the game, it’s just about what kind of experience you want with it.
There’s a ton of great rewards that are offered in this Kickstarter, including an art book that shows pieces from both games. The game has just launched on Kickstarter, and it has until October 4th to raise its funds. If you think this is an adventure worth taking, head to the Kickstarter and consider pledging to it.
