Artix Krieger just gave us some insight about AdventureQuest 3D’s upcoming Saga, the Dragons of Ashfall.
He has been playing and testing the upcoming content since Friday, to make sure everything’s balanced and complete since the release of this Saga is one of the more important ones. The combination of a grim, grand adventure mixed with the classical “AE humor” and interesting gameplay is still trying to be achieved, and this Saga might just be the one that manages it.
One of the bigger problems is the confusion caused by the last week’s change so that quests span multiple areas. The multiple ways of questing were so confusing that even Artix got confused and couldn’t figure out how to turn a quest in. This is the result of how flexible, and complicated, the NPCs in AQ3D can be. This weekend a solution was coded based on feedback that should fix the problem, but since it’s a big change, it will need a bit more time to test before getting released as a hotfix.
For AdventureQuest 3D players that like to click everything they can on their screen, the devs added little things around the camp that can be clicked on. These aren’t anything important, but they are there to appease the curiosity of some players. The level cap will also increase with the newest Saga, and the monsters the players will face start at level 15. Artix had to fight a monster for 24 rounds before he could kill it, which is a bit too much. Rebalancing is being done to make it a bit more fun and easier.
“Are you like me? I run around and click on everything. I jump and go everywhere.”
There still isn’t an exact time when the Saga will get released, but they are all trying to work as fast as possible to release it, so Artix advised us to keep an eye out on the Design Notes for an exact release date.
