Answering the questions and concerns of fans is actually a key part of being a video game developer. As such, different developers do different things to show they are indeed listening to the fans. Many do Q&A’s, including the team behind Armored Warfare, who does what they call “Developer Digests”, and a new one has gone up today.
First up, a player noted that the team said there would be changes to the spotting system, yet on the PTS (the Public Test Server), it’s the same still for the AFV’s. To which the team replied that they actually don’t have the same view range, and that it’s the next patch that’ll really affect these view ranges to the degree they want. Plus, the AFV’s are given bonuses and upgrades for the their viewing ranges now. Add that to the retrofits, and it’s not like it was before. They also reiterated that just because you have a good range, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to penetrate camoflauge.
Another player asked if Global Operations will ever be accessible to Tier 1 players (aka, new or lower ranking players). The team responded by stating that while it may be a good long term goal, as it’s much more “casual” an experience than the PVP mode they have, it does come at a cost. Mainly, in that the maps for the Global Operations are very large, and can be quite intimidating to those who don’t know the game very well and have slower tank models.
Now, they are hoping to adjust this so more players can join in regardless of tank model, but they’re having to wait until Balance 2.0 patch comes out. Other things they talked about where certain tank models that are still coming out, as well as why some models that were in testing or Early Access haven’t been released yet. So, does this answer your Armored Warfare questions? If not, be sure to message the team, you’d be surprised on how good they are on answering player questions.
