ARMS may have started out as a question mark for the Nintendo Switch, but due to brilliant promoting and intriguing gameplay, it soon became one of the most hyped games of the year. And in doing so, it sold over 1 million copies within the first two weeks of its launch. But, it’s been rather quiet as of late, and there hasn’t been a new character since Max Brass in July. This has left many to wonder who is coming next. Well, we got that answer, and another surprise that you might not have seen coming.
First up, the ARMS Global TestPunch is returning. If you recall, that was the demo of the game that Nintendo released to help test out the game as well as give players the chance to get the game in their hands to see if it felt like something they would play. According to the Nintendo Facebook Page, the TestPunch will be available via the Nintendo eShop and be active during this entire weekend, the 25th-27. It is curious that Nintendo is bringing it back after the game has launched and sold over a million copies. But maybe they’re trying to bring some new players to the mix.
And as for the veteran players, a new character is coming.
Yep, this is Lola Pop, a candy themed fighter (complete with candy stage) that looks to be very different from her fellow ARMS fighters. Right off the bat we can tell that her arms are made out of candy (likely taffy), which is very appropriate. Also, her main weapon will be the first nunchaku in the game.
What will no doubt get the eye of players though is her ability to inflate herself to a very round size. What this does is a bit unclear, but we’ll no doubt get info about it soon.
No word on when Lola will arrive in game.
