MMO games of the past often feature worlds that remain in a more static state than to our liking, which is something that Ashes of Creation is looking to change. In a rather unique take on the genre, the game features a dynamic world structure that reacts to the actions of its players.
With that in mind, the Ashes of Creation’s official website has detailed just how the game hopes to achieve such a feat. Contained within is a number of creatures including the Flanggler, who isn’t the prettiest of critters you’ll come across, which isn’t helped by the fact that its eating a flower. Having said that, the world has its own ambitions, and the Flanggler needs to eat after all.
Also detailed is the game’s Nodes. The Nodes are described as:
Nodes are the birth of civilization, the expansion of the world’s people. The development of these Nodes will give great environmental benefits, bridges to connect new areas, better roads for travel and even harbors for coastal cities. But, should civilization push up against a cave or forest, creatures that have lain dormant for time untold will awaken. Like all things in life, the evolution and progression of a world is a give and take.
As stated, its entire world of give and take, one which will shove back if you provoke it, and one that will reward if you give to it. The story of the game meanwhile sees players arriving and attempting to repopulate a forgotten world, where you will expand civilization in an untold land of magic.
