Ubisoft has been a major supporter for Nintendo, and though the two have had some rocky parts of their relationship, especially in regards to the Wii U, they work through them, and continue to work together. Ubisoft was one of the first third-party companies to praise the upcoming Nintendo Switch, and pledged their support behind it fully. Even going so far as to note it as a “true revolution” in gaming technology. However, despite this, they’ve only officially announced one game for the console, Just Dance 2017. They have said that more is coming, they just haven’t revealed it yet. However, another source may have just done it themselves.
For it appears, if these rumors are true, that Assassin’s Creed with be making its return on the Switch, along with the PS4 and Xbox One of course, in a simultaneous launch. If you recall, Assassin’s Creed III (which sadly was considered one of the lowpoints of the series) was on Wii U, and did look and play well, just not well enough for some. What also makes this interesting, is that the subsequent games in the AC series, Black Flag, Syndicate, and the chronicles titles, didn’t come to Wii U. So for them to go to Switch after all that means they must have some faith in the console and its potential.
Now, the rumors themselves come from Youtuber OBE1plays, as well as longtime Nintendo Leaker Laura Kate, who replied to him on Twitter to state that she agrees with what he has said about Assassin’s Creed coming to Switch, noting her own bits of info as well.
Should these be accepted as truth? Not yet, but with the Nintendo Switch event coming, that could change very, very, soon.
