Injustice 2 hasn’t been shy about making the game full of interesting characters from the DC Comics universe. But then, they brought in not one, but two Mortal Kombat characters. And then…they added Hellboy, from Dark Horse Comics. So, the question was…who’s next? Well, as it turns out, a new trailer for Injustice 2 arrived tonight, and with it came the reveals of not one, not two, but six new characters…technically. Let us explain, trust us, it’ll be worth it.
First up is The Atom, who ironically was revealed last month during a special event. Specifically, this is Ryan Choi, the second Atom and replacement to Ray Palmer, who happily gave him the mantle. He’s also a part of the current Justice League of America in the comics, so he’s deserves the spotlight he’s getting.
The first new character though was Enchantress, who has been a part of the DCU for quite some time, and has been both a hero and a villain. Moviegoers will recognize her as the antagonist in the recent Suicide Squad film, but she’s also be a major force for good in the DCU magical community, even heading up the legendary team called the Shadowpact. And then…there’s…
YEP! The TMNT! All four of them are coming to Injustice 2! Did NOT see that coming, am I right? There’s so much to dissect from their appearance it’s kind of scary. First off, how about that reference to the original TMNT movie with Rafael? Cool huh? But the biggest thing here is that it appears that all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be one unit. For Leonardo says, “We fight as a team, Mikey.” Implying that their “abilities” will include being able to swap out for their other brothers. Not unlike what the Pokemon Trainer did in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Regardless, this is a major addition to an already packed game, and it fits alongside the PC beta arrival for the game, which is going on now. What’s more, we got the release date for the PC version, which is the 14th, and the Early Access date for these characters, December 12th.
