Koei Tecmo recently revealed that there would be a sequel coming to the Attack on Titan franchise, with the announcement of Attack on Titan 2, though no platforms were previously revealed.
Koei Tecmo President and Chief Operating Officer Hisashi Koinuma has now confirmed that the game will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is still no word of whether or not there will be a Nintendo Switch version, though Koinuma did state that they want to reach as many fans of the anime as possible. There will be support for both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, which will of course bring enhanced visuals and frame rate, though no further details have been provided.
The game’s developers hope to be at a stage later this year around October or November, where they will be able to showcase more of the sequel, though further details are still to be revealed.
Attack on Titan released last year on PS4, Xbox One and PC. For those who haven’t had chance to sit through the anime, then it is most definitely worth picking up, given that it follows the first season of the show. Its close to the show in the sense of gameplay too, using 3D Maneuvering Gear to take down the Titans.
Attack on Titan 2 is set for release in 2018.
