PearlAbyss and Kakao Games has announced today that the long-awaited Kamasylvia Expansion in Black Desert Online will launch on Wednesday, September 27th. Following that week’s maintenance cycle, the Kamasylvia expansion will be rolled out in two parts, with the second to shortly follow the first.
Available free of charge, Kamasylvia plays host to new PvE content that will carry on the game’s story. This includes new story quests and side missions which will delve deeper into the background of the likes of the Ranger and Dark Knight native classes, and how they are figuratively tied to the legendary Kamasylve Tree. This new addition will also bring new events to Black Desert Online such as the Alchemist of Kamasyliva and Growth of a Kamasylve tree for players to get their hands on some new items.
The new region of Kamasylvia boasts elven woodlands that traverse across the south of Hexe Sanctuary, all the way from the Valtarr Mountains to the Shady Tree Forest. To put the region’s size into perspective, it’s roughly the size of Calpheon, and inhabits the elven village of the Old Wisdom Tree. There is no level requirement for heading to this new area, but it is a dangerous place to visit alone, so group play is recommended, or at least be a high level if you are going solo.
If group-based content is what you’re after, then the add-on also includes The Altar of Training. This is located deep within Kamasylvia, which is sure to satisfy any co-op needs you may have. This particular feature contains a survival mode which players are able to unlock once completing certain quests.
