MMORPG Black Desert Online has seen a vast increase in the amount of players in-game, featuring both newcomers and returning players alike.
Reddit user Janiter posted the following image of the Channel Change screen in the game:
Reasons as to why have been suggested over on Reddit, which alludes to a number of different introductions made to the game. One obvious inclusion to point out is the brand new release of the Dark Knight class, which offers a character capable of using a combination of both melee attacks and ranged magic, as well as wielding a two-handed sword caked in dark energy to quickly incapacitate opponents.
Other responses however suggest that Black Desert Online has enjoyed a rise in players prior to the new class release.
Not only did BDO celebrate its anniversary recently, but counting back as far as December could also be attributed to the increase, where we saw the introduction of daily rewards. Couple that with login and returning player events, plus a shed load of bug fixes, as stated by user Xanza, then its perfectly understandable to see why so many players have come back:
Players are coming back in droves. Login events. Returning player events. Anniversary events (lol). Olvia channels. Tons of bug fixes. The game is kinda/sorta starting to run a little better. (+10 fps since recent patches).
Plus the whole P2W debacle–people are realizing the extent of P2W and aren’t scared by it anymore because it’s ridiculous.
