BlizzCon 2017 has officially come and gone, and with it came not just some great esports events, but also a slew of announcements concerning many of Blizzard’s biggest games. World of Warcraft and Hearthsone got some expansion news, Heroes of the Storm got some upcoming character reveals, and Overwatch got a bunch of new stuff too. In fact, you could argue that Overwatch got the most announcements, which isn’t exactly a bad thing. In fact, some players are actually stating that they got everything they could’ve wanted out of BlizzCon.
This holds especially true for Redditor Pickles256, who was so happy with the results of BlizzCon that he couldn’t help but praise Blizzard on Reddit. In his mind, between the new character in Moira (her arrival alone a big filled request by Overwatch players), the new animated short featuring Reinhardt, the new skins that are coming (who doesn’t love new skins?), the new level in Blizzard World (coming soon), and the amazing new features that made the Overwatch World Cup viewable (which has gotten praise by other websites too), there’s nothing else they could’ve gotten.
So, is this true? Did Overwatch players get everything they could’ve wanted? Well, it depends on what level of player you are. Sure the new character and changes to esports is cool, and the Reinhardt cinematic was very moving, but, many are noting on Reddit that the game still has some flaws.
Mainly, there are still some issues with the characters. Some were mad that certain character fixes weren’t teased or announced. What’s more, though there are new skins, players are still not happy with the current state of Lootboxs where duplicate items are forever an issue.
Did the game have a great showing at BlizzCon 2017? Absolutely! But, do these updates and changes make the game perfect? We’re leaning to “no.”
