On the current public test realm for Overwatch, a number of players have spotted an issue with Moira’s RMB.
The new hero, who was introduced to fans at Blizzcon recently, has been what appears to be on the surface a nerf. This has seen her weapon requiring pin-point accuracy in order to impose any damage on enemies, with limited range and very little chance of a headshot.
This situation has been addressed by lead engineer Tim Ford on the official forums, who has revealed that the team are making changes based on the mechanism used for her to select a target that’s in the field of view.
On PTR it requires almost a pin-point accuracy to damage enemies with Moira’s RMB. It is awful, now it is officially the worst weapon in the game. No headshots, pathetic damage, limited range and now also no lock-on. This was met with issues however, as it didn’t convert to perfection when trying to use it on all heroes. For example, whilst smaller heroes catered to her old self more closely, larger heroes became even more difficult to target.
Ford stated:
Since it wasn’t our intention to do anything but improve Moira’s targeting, we’re hoping to test a new configuration on the PTR either late this week or early next. Thank you so much for surfacing the issue for us; these reports are incredibly useful for us when it comes to tracking down bugs.
So the improvements should be back up and running correctly in the next week or so, much to the relief of Moira mains.
