Certain video games require constant tweaking and adjustments so that the game can be balanced, as well as bug-free or as close to bug-free as possible. For titles like Overwatch, many adjustments to the vast hero roster are necessary to keep the game fair to everyone who plays it. To that end, Blizzard has revealed that a new wave of hero changes in Overwatch are about to be tested on the PTR, short for Public Test Realm.
While many of these changes are for heroes that have been around for quite some time, the twist here is that Orisa, the recently revealed champion, is being nerfed. This just goes to prove that even new characters are subject to adjustments, even before they are released to the people.
As for other hero changes, here are some of the adjustments that will be made.
The damage for Ana’s Biotic Rifle will be decreased from 80 to 60. Also, her Biotic Grenade will have its Impact damage taken down from 60 to 30 while her Impact healing will go from 100 to 50.
Junkrat users will be happy to learn that Blizzard is making it so that he is no longer affected by his own explosions.
The change made to Orisa comes via her Fusion Driver weapon, which is getting its clip size lowered from 200 to 150. Furthermore, her ultimate ability, Supercharger, will have its cost increased by 15%.
The sound effects made by Sombra, as well as her VO distance for entering and exiting Stealth, are being lowered to 15 meters. Also, the cooldown on her Translocator will be reduced to 4 seconds.
Winston’s Barrier Projector will now have its Cooldown beginning once the barrier itself is placed rather than before, where it began when the barrier was done.
Finally, Zenyatta’s Orbs are being adjusted. Her Orb of Destruction’s alternate fire recovery is being lowered to 0.6 seconds while her Orb of Discord can now target enemies through barriers.
What do you think of these changes? Will they make Overwatch better if they’re implemented? Let us know in the comments below.
