When it comes to the characters in Overwatch, there’s no doubt that every one of them is unique. After all, that’s the point of the game in many ways, you control one of 27 characters that span all walks of life. You learn about them via various aspects of media (like short animated films, comics, and more), and then grow even more attached to them as you battle with them in various kinds of matches. Blizzard also makes it fun to dress up the characters via special skins.
But, Blizzard doesn’t always have the best record when it comes to these skins. For at times, they forget to bring skins to characters that don’t have many. And other times, the skins aren’t as good as they think it is. Take, for example, the recent Winter Wonderlands skins for Overwatch characters. Some of them are great, and then there’s Hanzo. When his costume was shown off in art form, fans liked it, but changes were made when the costume was brought into the game itself, and fans weren’t happy with it. So, Blizzard decided to change it.
We’re working on some visual updates to the new Winter Wonderland “Casual” Hanzo skin for January! Here’s a quick look at our work in progress.

On Battle.net, Community Manager Josh Engen revealed that Blizzard also agreed with your sentiments on the character skin, and thus was happy to make the changes. He also described what the endgame was for the skin:
“The goal is to bring the in-game skin more in line with how Hanzo looks in our “Reflections” comic from last year”
Now, the update for the skin is being worked on now, and likely won’t arrive until January, but that’s ok, as this is meant as a retroactive upgrade, meaning that if you are able to get the skin during the Winter Wonderland event, the update will be given to you for free, and it’ll stick with you forever.
