Game of Thrones is an inconceivably popular television show based off the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series by none other than George R. R. Martin himself. Tomorrow, the final episode of the second-to-last season of the show will air and it’s titled “The Dragon and the Wolf”. To celebrate the show that has taken the world by storm, and the incestuous ‘ship that has sailed, let’s take a look at some of the coolest Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen cosplay I could find.
Let me just start off by saying that when you’re perusing the web for Game of Thrones cosplay you’re going to find a LOT of bleach-blonde wigs and scaly eggs. It comes as no surprise to me that Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name… blah blah blah… Queen of Meereen… blah blah blah… Mother of Dragons is a popular choice for cosplayers. One of the more recent GoT cosplay posts on Deviantart comes from user fenixfatalist and it is absolutely stunning.
This particular cosplay comes from all the way back in Season 1 of Game of Thrones when our little Dany was still a young, naive little girl with no idea what her life had in store for her. Personally, this is one of my favourite times from Dany’s past as watching it back really shows you how much she has grown as a character. Fast forward 6 seasons in as many years, and she has swiftly become one of the fandom’s favourite characters.
This photo was taken by photographer Alexander Bootsman and feature Fenix Fatalist as the beautiful Mother of Dragons. Who the gorgeous horse is next to her, we don’t know. The animal certainly fits the theme of the photo, though.
Next comes everyone’s favourite King in the North, Jon Snow. This character has been through hell and back within the show’s 7 seasons and it really shows. Remember when he was clean-shaven and baby-faced? We may have fond memories of those old days but everyone knows the best Jon snow is the bearded, somewhat grizzled man with some combat experience. Jon Snow should look like Philipp Mikulskiy’s awesome cosplay.
From the fur to the smouldering, yet somewhat confused stare, model Philipp Mikulskiy really has this Jon Snow cosplay down. The photo itself was taken by Deviantart user shproton who really seems to know how to shoot the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. I would love to see an updated version of this cosplay from Mikulskiy and shproton with Jon’s new wounds and sweet sword.
In a perfect world, we would see these two featured cosplayers in a shoot together. With all the current happenings in season 7 it would be great to see these two in one place. The internet certainly can’t get enough of the Dragon and the Wolf and the season 7 finale promises to give us what we want.
