Blizzard are no strangers to receiving requests on how to improve their many franchises, with suggestions rolling in on an hourly basis for franchises such as World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, Hearthstone and others. With the technology in the industry today, we have seen how games can cater to those who perhaps have different requirements to others. In this particular case, one Reddit user has requested that Blizzard implement certain changes to Hearthstone for those who are colorblind.
Submitted by user SacroMax, the opening post states:
Could you please make Reno, Kazakus etc. cards to also glimmer like activated elemental cards? It’s impossible for people like us to spot the difference now.
This issue is apparently something that isn’t new to the Hearthstone community, and appears to have gathered quite some momentum from those offering their support. Its no secret that Hearthstone is quite a colorful game visually, which can cause problems in gameplay for those who may be colorblind. For example, as raised by user Armandx89, some may not be aware that there is a separate aura color for activated battlecries if you can’t notice the different colors in the game.
Whilst many responding members who are colorblind have shared their tricks on how to get around not being able to differentiate the colors, some rightfully argue that there shouldn’t have to be tricks or ways around issues such as this. Hopefully this is something that Blizzard can address in the near future.
