When you think of patches in video games, you often think about them coming from the developer themselves. After all, it’s their game, and they’re the ones that need to fix it when something is wrong, and that’s very true. However, when it comes to mods, it’s a bit different, as the ones who made the mod, whether it be one fan or twenty, are required to fix it, and as loyal fans, they do. This is exactly what has happened for Company of Heroes: Eastern Front.
If you haven’t played it yourself, the Company of Heroes: Eastern Front mod is a full-on expansion of sorts made by fans, and it features a full Soviet army for you to control and do missions with. There are even special enemy units that were made to test the skills of those who would use the Soviets. What’s more, the team is dedicated to expanding the mod as best the can, and that includes patches.
Here are the general Patch Notes. There was an issue that caused a “missing file” that made it so that Eastern Front couldn’t load properly, this has been resolved. There was also a removal of certain files that had no use in the game.
Other fixes pertained to the units or the factions themselves. For example, the Ostheer (which is the anti-Soviet unit) has had its upkeep moved from 8 to 9. It’s also had its targeting system adjusted so it can be more coherent.
The Panzer Elite unit has had its Kar98 and G43 guns adjusted so that they’re more accurate while they’re moving. 75% accurate to be exact.
Other units in both the USA and Soviet factions have been adjusted as well to better balance the game and improve the units themselves. Read the full Patch Notes to see the other minor adjustments.
