Games that are in Steam Early Access obviously have a reason for it. And that reason, plain and simple, is improvement. Each game that is in Early Access isn’t finished yet and they are in that state in order to collect feedback so that the developers can focus on improving the game’s issues that the community noticed. The same goes for Funcom’s Conan Exiles and the sprinting mechanic.
Conan Exiles keeps evolving more and more, as they recently updated the game with an expansion known as Frozen North. The expansion gave both the Xbox One and PC players content and additions to the base game and the feedback was mostly positive from the community. But a DLC doesn’t make up for a game that has bugs and issues, so that’s what the developers are going to focus from now on.
The developers are hard at work fixing any issue and the first one they are going to improve is the sprinting mechanic that players have been complaining about. Sprinting is very important during combat as you rely on it while trying to outplay your opponent.
So the first change for sprinting is that players while sprinting will sheathe their weapons and unsheathe once they stop as it implies they are ready for combat. The second change is that when you attack during sprinting, the attack will trigger autowield and your character will stop sprinting in that moment. The third change is the soon-to-be implemented option for players to manually wield and unwield instead of it happening automatically. The fourth and the last change is going to be a feature which will allow players to equip certain tools while sprinting, like a torch.
This is a big improvement for the gameplay and players all over Steam are thanking the devs for listening to their request. If you are interested to view the announcement for yourself, visit it on Steam.
