Despite a rocky start, Conan: Exiles has gotten back on its feet and has grown to quite a user base. Their MMORPG is set in the realm of Hyberion, where the legendary character Conan resides. Players get to create their own character and fight for freedom, love, revenge, and everything else you’d expect from a Conan game. But with the rise in popularity comes the natural questions that players have about the game both presently and going forward. So, the dev team held a Q&A, and then posted the results on Reddit. Here are the highlights.
One player asked about the Hyena creature, and wondered about the creation of it and why it’s such a deadly (and OP) enemy. To which the team replied:
“I wouldn’t say that the Hyena was strictly designed, more that it was a nighmarish mishmash of different tests that came together to form the creature you loathe today.”
However, they did note that the Hyena was one creature that was going to get an AI overhaul to make it not as painful to fight.
Another big question was about combat, which prompted a big answer. The team acknowledges that the combat in Conan Exiles won’t be on par with other big action titles, as that’s not the point of an MMORPG. However, they do acknowledge that the goal they set themselves for combat has not been reached, and thus, they’re going to work hard to make it a lot better.
The respawn rate in caves was brought up, as players have been having issues with it. To which the team lamented about how it is right now:
“The respawn rate in caves is simply broken and we never intended it to work the way it currently does.”
They do intend to work on it. However, it’s not their highest priority, so it may take some time.
There were loads more questions in the Q&A, be sure to read it all to see just how much Conan Exiles may be changing in the future.
