Conan Exiles has been going through a lot of server issues since launch, and over the past weekend, they have apparently continued. To that end, the team behind the game are implementing fixes to many problems, but some players have exploited the issues for in-game gains. So, to maintain balance, they’re going to have to wipe a part of their servers.
Now, as for what they mean by that, this particular server wipe will affect items and buildings in the game. Basically, they’re resetting the game, and to that end, all inventories that players have, and any buildings they may have made during their run will be reset with it. However, the reset itself won’t affect your player character, so all the details, customization, and levels you have for them should remain in tact.
For the team, they note that aside from fixing the exploited parts of the game, this will put players on an “even playing field,” which is a big goal for them in the game. Plus, they’re going to be rolling out a big weapon balances update soon, so this actually helps set up for that.
As noted, this isn’t the first time Conan Exiles has had server issues. In fact, right after launch on Steam Early Access, the team had a major problem. Though they had many people wanting to play the game, and even made enough money from the Early Access buyers to fund the game and then some, the servers for the game couldn’t handle all the players. They had to be shut down, and the team had to find a new server partner to ensure this wouldn’t happen again.
Despite all of these issues, the team is still confident that Conan Exiles will turn out great, but they also acknowledge that player feedback is a big part of that happening. So, if you play the game on Early Access, give the team some thoughts on it. Every little bit helps.
