It’s been a long wait for the brilliant-looking run-and-gun platformer Cuphead to release on Xbox One and PC, and now it’s just a matter of hours until it finally lands. However, if you were expecting to play the game tonight at midnight, you might well want to read on.
Studio MDHR has confirmed that the game will indeed launch on September 29th, though it will launch at 6am PT on the day tomorrow. For other territories, this will be at 9am ET, 1pm GMT and 11pm AEST.
The 1930’s cartoon-style game was originally showcased at Microsoft’s E3 press conference three years ago, with the platformer capturing the imaginations of many in attendance with it’s eye-catching visuals and enhanced difficulty. It has been subject to delays since, as the developers went back to the drawing board to expand the game into a full-blown platform experience.
From this year’s E3, we finally had an official release date announced, with it set to launch tomorrow on Xbox One and PC. The game will support Xbox Play Anywhere, so buying Cuphead digitally will allow you to play on Xbox One or PC and play it on both platforms. PlayStation 4 owners shouldn’t hold out for a release however, with the previous announcement of it being a lifetime exclusive for Xbox One and PC.
