The developers behind Dark and Light just announced that the latest patch will go live today, on September 30. The update is focusing on “quality of life changes”.
Snail Games’ survival sandbox game is still in Early Access, and reviews on Steam indicate that there is still a long road ahead. Patches such as the one today will hopefully improve the game to an acceptable level by the time it reaches the official release stage. The latest patch is focusing on the Ice Cave which launched along with the Blackice Peaks update. The devs are implementing some changes to provide a more enjoyable experience.
“Greetings Adventurers! We’re planning on publishing a patch at approximately 1:00AM PST on 9/30. As always, please make sure to log out before the patch hits to reduce the risk of data loss.”
Mobs in the Ice Cave have been nerfed in terms of HP and damage and their drop rates have also been tweaked. You will now need 2500 cold resist to avoid getting the chilled status, as the minimum temperature has been increased to -145C. Bytorg will drop higher-quality equipment schemas and Cave Yetis will drop Bytorg parts along with schemas as well. All mobs in the Ice Cave can drop special runes that can return you to the entrance. You can check out the full list of changes in the Steam announcement.
Dark and Light has been in Early Access since July and since then plenty of updates have been introduced. The sandbox RPG has a lot of competition to deal with, but hopefully, it will soon reach its complete form and we will get to see better reviews on Steam.
