Sometimes when you release a patch to fix certain issues, other problems pop up. That happened to Dark and Light, a sandbox survival RPG, when the latest patch was released. In order to fix all these new bugs, the developers are deploying the new 9/27 hotfix, which will reduce ingot craft times, reduce spawn rates of some monsters, and more.
In a sandbox RPG like Dark and Light where crafting plays a huge role, you have to actively work to remove any bugs that might be found in the game, as they can ruin all the crafting systems by being exploited. Something like this was fixed a few patches ago, as there was a bug with forges that allowed players to craft multiple types of ingots at the same time. But now it takes extra fuel to craft the same number of ingots as before, so the amount of time to craft all existing Schemas found in a Forge was reduced. Silica Powder crafting was reverted from automatic to manual, the amount of time required to craft Silica Powder, Copper Ingot, Iron Ingot, and Mithril Ingot in a Forge was reduced by 50%, and the amount of time required to craft all items in a Refining Forge was also reduced by 50%.
As far as the other gameplay changes go, the Stone Elementals’ sleep function is now back, and they will still aggro to any nearby hostile entities, but when they’re sleeping their detection radius is much shorter. The respawn rate for panthers around the world has been reduced, and the spawn rate for wolves and longhorns near cities has also been reduced. Gravity also got its original values back, which should resolve the issue where characters would be pushed underground after they die.
The bugfixes that came with this hotfix are related to creature spawning where they shouldn’t and insane creature spawn rates. Firstly, some creature spawn rates have been fixed, so you shouldn’t get overrun by panthers anymore. And now your homes will be safe, as the bug that made some creatures spawn inside player-built structures was also fixed.
