The story content of DC Universe Online is divided up into episodes. Each episode is filled with content for players to enjoy, as well as numerous cities and characters to interact with. Not to mention loads of other things to do as well.
In celebration of the holiday season, DCUO has extended what they’re calling “Open Episodes” until January 31st, 2017. What does this mean? Well, the open episodes are a way for players of all standing, whether they be new or old, hero or villain, to play any storyline that has been in DCUO so far without need for purchase or already having it completed.
There have 27 episodes made so far, with the first 26 falling into this “open episode” category. Which means, that there is literally dozens of storylines that you can play through for the first time, or play again for fun or nostalgia purposes. This includes such episode as fighting Brianiac for the fate of the Earth, taking a dive into the Bombshells line of DC Comics, or even hanging out with villains like Penguin in the Iceberg Lounge. There’s also the War of Light, fighting Trigon, and numerous other classic and fresh DC Comics storylines for you to enjoy.
Two notes. One, episode 27, which is “Amazon Fury Part III” is not available in the open episodes selection, as that was the most recently released storyline. Also, to have access to these episodes, you must have a combat rating of 43 to start, and meet the minimum CR for other episodes.
No doubt, this will bring joy to many who play DC Universe Online. But, if you’re new to the game, you have time to build yourself up before diving into the episodes. So whether you be a hero or villain, it’s fair to say, there’s a vast universe waiting for you.
