Video games are a process, they aren’t just “made” on a dime, they’re carefully crafted, and sometimes, creators want to make sure they’re “just right” before they’re revealed or released. In the case of Hideaki Itsuno, who is the creator of games like the Devil May Cry series and Dragon’s Dogma, he promised that he was working on a new game project, and wanted to reveal it in 2017. Well, it’s now 2018, and no game has been revealed. So…what happened?
Well, he went to Twitter to voice what happened, as well as apologize for the delay that unfortunately occurred. However, he affirms that the game project he’s on is still in the works, and asks for patience as he gets it to where it needs to be before its revealed to the world at large.
Happy new year!
I am sorry that I can not present a new project last year. The development of the project is now under climax. I am making a great game so please expect it.

Of course, when Itsuno revealed that a new game was coming from him, many immediately jumped to the idea that Devil May Cry 5 was being made, so persistent was this rumor that it was said that The Game Awards would be the place of its unveiling. Sadly, that didn’t happen, and as of now, we’re just getting a remake of the series and a mobile title featuring some of the characters.
Now, this is of course NOT confirmation that a Devil May Cry game is being made by him, it’s just a distinct possibility give the fans love of the franchise. But, whatever he is making, it’s clear that we will be seeing it soon. So just hold on for a little bit longer as things get worked out.
