Bluehole Ginno and Trion’s fantasy MMO ported to Android and iOS as Devilian Mobile, published by Gamevil.
Devilian is a fantasy MMO action RPG for PC, released December 2015. As of yesterday, the game is also available for mobile devices and has already surpassed 50,000 downloads in the Google Play Store.
“Good to be Bad”
Players assume the role of a half-devil to hack-and-slash through hordes of monsters. The official site sums it up in the phrase, “it’s good to be bad,” a mirror to the “Mixed” reviews on Steam.
Play style in the MMOARPG is top-down and features five classes, each with unique skill trees and powerful devil forms. It also features PvP battlegrounds for 3v3, 6v6, and 20v20 players, as well as guild vs. guild skirmishes.
The mobile version somewhat restricts these features. Instead of classes, there are 3 pre-set characters. These each have different play styles and the game’s signature devil forms. There are multiple game modes, including an extensive single-player story mode, co-op raids, and a PvP arena.
Devilian mobile is free-to-play with ads and in-game purchases. Gamevil has been a prolific publisher of mobile games in recent years, with titles like Kritika, Dark Avenger, and the Zenonia series. In 2013, Gamevil purchased majority stake in Com2uS, another Korean mobile games publisher that held the trademark for the term “Tower Defense.”
