Diablo 3 is a wildly popular isometric hack-and-slash action RPG from Blizzard. The Necromancer character is a classic fan-favourite from Diablo II that is being released into the third game. Today, on the official website, fans got the release date and all the details for the Rise of the Necromancer pack.
Due to be released on June 27th, the Rise of the Necromancer pack will be $15 USD for all platforms. Those who purchase the DLC will receive the Necromancer class, for both Campaign and Adventure mode, as well as a slew of other content. This includes a non-combat pet, cosmetic wings, a Necromancer-themed Banner Shape, Sigil, and Accent, a Necromancer portrait frame, Pennant, and the addition of 2 extra character slots. Those of us on PC will also be receiving 2 addition stash tabs.
As one can see from this sizzle reel, there is no shortage of content in this DLC. In addition to all the other extras, players will also have the opportunity to grind out 4 new class sets during their adventures. However, if the Youtube comments are to be taken seriously, fans seem pretty against Diablo III’s addition of the Necromancer.
It is always difficult to essentially recreate a more updated version of a fan-favourite for any game, especially one with fans as passionate as Blizzard’s Diablo III fans. These games are massive in terms of player retention and the wrong move can definitely rub them the wrong way.
