The Blizzard shooter Overwatch is taking time to cut down on cheaters and eradicate poor behavior online by introducing permabans to the game. With the ever-rising amount of botters in Diablo III, it’s worth wondering whether or not fellow Blizzard franchise Diablo III should bring in a similar, relevant treatment.
It’s only been over a year since Overwatch released, so the fact that Blizzard have taken the time out to have to work on something like cracking down on toxic behavior, as opposed to using that time to work on more creative features to improve the overall gameplay. However, as far as Diablo III is concerned, surely their focus should be more about fixing issues such as botting next, given how much longer the game has been out.
Many players have reported a rising amount of botters in the most recent season of the popular ARPG. With the exception of whatever they may be working on to be potentially announced at Blizzcon this year, the primary objective for Blizz should possibly be maintaining the playerbase that it has established over the years by bringing in a series of ban waves.
These ban waves often fall under the radar in Diablo III, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out to see if this is something that Blizzard may implement at some point soon.
