Arguably one of the most hyped games coming out within the next year is Dragon Ball FighterZ. The game is unlike any Dragon Ball Z game to come before it, and it knows it, and the fans know it, that’s why they want it so badly. Made by the team behind Guilty Gear, and playing like Marvel Vs. Capcom, this fighting games looks like the anime itself, and the roster is reflecting the legacy of the anime series, including the most recent one as it so happens.
Four new characters were revealed for the game, two of which are pulled right out of Dragon Ball Super and the movies that preceded it. I speak of Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta. Now, Goku and Vegeta were already in the game, and they were in their Super Saiyan forms. So are these forms mere power ups? No, they’re actually separate characters, ones that have their own moves and abilities based on the form they are in. While its not the first time the Dragon Ball games have done this, it is intriguing that they’re doing it for Dragon Ball FighterZ.

An even bigger surprise though is that two more characters have been announced in the same day. Android 16 and 18 have been confirmed for the game. Where’s 17? It’s unknown at present, however, he does appear when 18 does her Accel Dance, so maybe it’s a tease of what’s to come? What’s curious here is that while Android 16 had a big role to play in the Cell Saga, he didn’t fight a lot, so why bring him in over say Android 17? Who had a whole movie based around him? Who knows.
The roster is slowly becoming bigger, who knows who’s coming next!
