The future of video games is one that’ll no doubt put the immersion of the player at the forefront. We’re already getting their with motion controls, and even VR headsets, yet people are still trying to get that full immersion. Now, Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition, is aiming to bring even more natural immersion to the game via an eye-tracking application.
In cooperation with Tobii, the team behind Dying Light have introduced full eye-tracking support for the PC and Mac versions of Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition. With this, players will experience a new level of immersion. The device will allow 14 eye-tracking options, including adaptive HDR, flashlight controls, gaze aiming, transparent UI, and more. You can see the Tobii EyeX Controller in action via the video trailer below.
The Tobii EyeX Controller will have a wide range of features, but also, will help improve gameplay via the following features: A clean UI, extended view, an auto pause, dynamic light, automatic interaction with gaze, flashlight control, multi-throw with gaze, aim with gaze, throw with gaze, interact with gaze, zombie awareness, vault with gaze, climb with gaze, and auto-climb when sprinting.
Many of the features above are shown via the video, and if they work as seamlessly as advertised, this could indeed be an experience that could lead to the next version of games, even if only on PC/Mac for now.
