June is a big month for the video game industry, mainly because E3 takes place during that month. E3 allows major publishers to address the world and reveal what they have planned for the next year and beyond. But, there are also other events that take place during that month, including one that will happen just before E3. EA is hosting another EA Play event, allowing fans from all over to come and play some of their biggest titles. Last year, they let players get their hands on Battlefront II, and this year will be just as big.
First off, EA has promised that players will get to try out the new Battlefield game which is set to arrive later this year. This likely means that we’ll get an official announcement trailer just before the event, or a few days/weeks before it. Either way, this will be a great chance to view what will be coming soon.
The other game that will be present at EA Play will be Anthem, the next major title from Bioware. The game was first unveiled in a massive gameplay demo at E3 2017, and it has a lot of people intrigued. However, it was delayed last year and put into the Q1 2019 release window. This raised a lot of speculation as to what was going on with the title.
EA swears that they delayed it so Bioware has plenty of time to build and refine it, which is the opposite of what happened with Mass Effect Andromeda, which turned out to be one of the biggest disappointments in 2017. So to hear this, and find out that the game will be playable at EA Play should give players hope for what’s to come.
The event itself will take place on June 9th-11th. With E3 taking place on the 12th-14th.
