Developers of the space simulator Elite Dangerous, Frontier Developments, will be running a 24 hour livestream, starting from today. Developers and community members alike will come together for this special event, featuring the partnership of Ed Lews and Bo de Vries as they take on a unique and simultaneous challenge.
Bo will be taking up the Planet Coaster festive fun challenge over the course of 24 hours, whilst Ed Lewis will spend the time captaining his way through Elite Dangerous in a day/night extravaganza. The challenge has just begun over on Youtube (12PM GMT) and will finish at the same time tomorrow on December 20th. The event will raise money for the SpecialEffect charity, who are credited with doing amazing work helping disabled people gain access to games and technology in general. The challenge will have rewards to be won, and at the same time raise money for a worth cause.
The SpecialEffect charity uses a wide range of technology to give the opportunity for people to play games to the best of their abilities. The aim of this is to bring families and friends together with the use of therapy, confidence and rehabilitation with tech such as modified joypads, to eye-control and much more.
The challenge is about to get underway, so if you want to check out a worthy cause with some entertaining gameplay, and the opportunity to get your hands on some great prize giveaways, head over to the Youtube livestream. To learn more about the SpecialEffect charity, click here.
