While it’s true that some video games can’t be fixed once released (or at least not in a major way), many titles are capable of having fundamental changes made throughout it, especially if said game is an online title like Fortnite Battle Royale. Heck, Epic Games proved this when they added the Battle Royale mode to the game, and thus earned itself millions of more players. Yet, despite the upgrades and changes, there are still flaws in the game, and Epic Games understands that.
So, to show that they are in the know and are listening to fans, they went to their site and delivered a “State Of Development” Address to help show their plans.
For example, they know that players want to play Fortnite with friends, or at the very least players they’ve worked well with, but, with the current setup, it’s a bit difficult. However, they are working on ways to fix this, as well as bring in friends lists from various other social media sites.
Of course, the biggest issue in the game right now is easily team killing. And not the “Oh no! I accidentally shot my teammate!” kind of thing, but the real and true intentional team killing. Epic Games accepts full blame for the current system that is in place, as it doesn’t even come close to resolving the issue, but they are working on it, and hope to bring a better system soon.
Another interesting project they’re working on is the Inventory System, they feel it could be much cleaner and efficient, and they’re actually running tests right now that seem to be very promising. Other updates you can expect is better shooting mechanics while behind cover, audio fixes, new pieces of cosmetics to customize your character with, and much more.
Any way you look at it, it’s clear Fortnite is going to be growing for the better.
