The EVE Online: Ascension expansion will offer a variety of new features. Most importantly, the Clone States feature effectively gets rid of free trial accounts, making the game free to play for everyone.
That’s not all. EVE is also introducing Inception, which brings a new player experience with more depth, voice-acted mentors and intelligent UI help. Not to mention a vast storyline taking place in the glory of space.
Players’ characters will now co-exist in either Omega or Alpha states. Alpha will act as the new base state for characters, whilst Omega will act in a similar fashion to current EVE Online players, with access to fast skill training and progression. “EVE Online is a very special game. Our single shard server means that every player truly affects every other, whether through economics, resource gathering, direct combat or social interaction,” Executive Producer Andie Nordgren stated. “This in turn means that our universe is more interesting, more exciting and more dangerous with each additional citizen.”
Other key features with the update include new ships, dynamic battle sequences and new abilities, such as being able to warp across large areas with Effect Generators for Titans. The full list of additions can be found here.
