Exoplanet: First Contact is a grand-scale 3rd person action-RPG set in a universe that is a “space western”. But, more importantly than that, it’s currently a Steam Early Access title, which means that the game is getting updated constantly in order to become more complete. But, even with the best of updates, things sometimes happen. In this case, a series of bugs permeated the update, making playing the game a bit difficult for some. The solution? A hotfix! And the team behind the game outlined what the hotfix would have on Steam. Here’s the highlights.
First off, there was a random crash bug that was popping up all over the game, it make the title not respond to anything, forcing a restart. That has been fixed. There was also a crash that happened when a “pure virtual call” was made, this too has been fixed.
There were also some odd visual bugs, like a creature who would roar as it was sliding across the ground. That’s been stopped. Another one was your character being able to jump…while swimming. Fixed.
For those who think the UI should be a little neater in some areas, the hotfix has done that for status effects. Also, item pop-up options have been tweaked so that they work every time they’re clicked.
Other bugs that have been fixed are things like being able to sell weapons to the Stone Heads Trader and Eli, errors in the dialogue for the game, various animations playing at the wrong time, disappearing light sources, and glitches that would prevent quests from being fulfilled.
If you are playing Exoplanet: First Contact on Steam the team would like your help in finding more bugs. To do so, simply go to their Discord channel and spell out what’s wrong. They’ll try and get to as many as they can.
