Final Fantasy is a fascinating series to look at, historically speaking I mean. The first game was meant to be a literal FINAL fantasy for the series creator, who hadn’t had a successful video game in his career. So, he decided to take a little bit of Dragon Quest and throw in his own personal style. What resulted, was the beginning of a beloved RPG franchise, and one that continues to grow and evolve to this day. But, one of the most anticipated upcoming games in the franchise has to be Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The remake is just what it sounds like, a ground-up rebuilding of the original Final Fantasy VII, which is still one of the most iconic games in the Final Fantasy genre. Not only will the game be getting fresh 3D graphics (far above the models the PS1 ever had), but there will also be a modern battle system, a truly open-world to explore, and possibly even more than most realize.
At a special exhibit in Japan, Final Fantasy is being celebrated, and some preview photos have been captured by fans and put on Twitter of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Check it out.
@RedMakuzawa sorry to repost. This is the art panels shows. The 3rd photo should be the new dialogue played when you enter the room. pic.twitter.com/oSduTFJZfx

So, it’s not much, but it’s something, certainly more than we’ve had in the last months or so. The game is still in development, and that’s part of the problem. It was announced a while ago, but certain shifts in Square Enix made it so that the game kept getting juggled around.
Hopefully, by E3 2018, we’ll get a firmer grasp on where the game is, and when it’s coming out.
