The Final Fantasy series has some of the greatest RPGs of all time, and they’ve come via a variety of systems. For the PS2 era, one of the greatest games from the series was Final Fantasy XII. This was a title that not only brought some stunning graphics to the mix (and this was before the HD age) but it also threw in some interesting gameplay mechanics that were very different from anything Final Fantasy had done before. Now, get the chance to go back to that game with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.
This modern update of the game brings the beloved RPG to the PS4, and features a graphical boost to accentuate what the PS4 can do. But wait, that’s not all. The game will also feature a system that was only released in the original Japanese version of the game, a Job System. This system will let you pick one of 12 jobs for your characters and you can raise them through the progression of that system. Between that, the updated graphics, the remastered soundtrack, and more, it’s clear that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is going to be something special.
The game itself takes place in the land of Ivalice. The land of Dalmasca has been enslaved and left to die, and the only person that could ascend to the throne to set things right is Princess Ashe. The only problem is that she is currently on the run, and helping the resistance to try and fight off their enslavement.
Enter Vaan, a young man with dreams of flying among the clouds. These two meet up and join others in a desperate quest to free all who reside in their homelands. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is available now.
