Patch 3.5 is soon to come for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The Far Edge of Fate will be out on January 17th, so the developers took some time to show off a bit of what’s in store for players.
Final Fantasy XIV: The Far Edge of Fate
All kinds of things are in store for Heavensward players with the new patch. The Warriors of Darkness may be no more, but the developers still have more in store for the main scenario, in preparation for the next expansion, due out June 20th. Of course, there are also some new side story quests, such as the continuation of the Hildibrand Adventures, and more mystery at Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate. There’s also the Beast Tribe Quests, shown in the video above, which looks like it will take plenty of dancing to complete.
New trials await in Containment Bay Z1T9, where the primal, Zurvan, the Devil, has been imprisoned for 5,000 years. If defeating a demonic eikon manifested in the physical plain as the embodiment of victory sounds like a cakewalk, there’s also the new Alliance Raid Dungeon, Dun Scaith. A floating island created by Mhachi sorcerers and once intended as a safe haven, Dun Scaith has been annexed by none other than Diabolos. Overcome with darkness and full of fiends that pledge their allegiance to the series’ perennial demon, players will have to delve deep into the murky shadows of the island to expunge the evil.
A new feature coming in the patch is the Egi Glamours, which will allow players to alter the appearance of their pet via text commands. There are a few options for now, with more in the works.
Final Fantasy XIV’s upcoming patch will also add a host of new gear and items, as well as a few hairstyles. The video offers a sneak peak at the outfit worn by Squall in Dissidia Final Fantasy, tailored to fit any race. There will be new minions, new mounts, new emotes, and some updates to the party finder. For full details, be sure to check the notes on the official site.
