Final Fantasy XIV players must be really excited about the patch 4.1’s release, which is coming in early October. The patch is called The Legend Returns and it’s bringing new main scenario quests, Return to Ivalice, squadron content, and more. But, we are not here today to cover those, instead, we are going to talk about all the UI changes that are coming as well as some quality of life adjustments. Project Manager U in Japan decided to share some info and screenshots with us, so let’s take a look at those together.
Let’s talk about the chat mode and companion improvements first. Currently, in the game, every time you log back your chat mode is reset to /say, but when 4.1 arrives, your active chat mode will stay saved even when you log out. As far as companion improvements are concerned, there will on-screen indicators that let you know how much more your companion will keep you company. Also, players will be able to summon minions and their chocobos at the same time, and even though most players don’t summon minions, for the most part, this is a welcome quality of life change.
The Party Finder display will now be much easier to use, so you will be able to make a party and join one with little to no trouble. Lots of improvements were made, and you can look at the finished product in the screenshot above.
Desynth requirements will also now be shown in the item details.
In the last patch, patch 4.0, the Duty Action was implemented, but in patch 4.1 it’s going to be categorized as a general action, meaning that you’re going to be able to set it on your hotbars. Also, players that use controllers can toggle the Duty Action button on and off by pressing the L2 or R2 button + R3 button, which is quite a convenient addition.
Apparently, there are more changes coming to Final Fantasy XIV in patch 4.1, but they will be revealed later, as this blog’s purpose was to show off the UI changes only.
