Final Fantasy XV has been a major triumph for Square Enix. The game was beloved by pretty much every critic and fan out there, and was the fastest-selling title in the series, ever. But Square Enix hasn’t stayed idle with the game, instead, they’ve been releasing DLC content that allowed players to become the supporting cast and experience stories through their eyes. Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis have gotten episodes, and now, it’s been revealed that more episodes are coming, four more in fact.
This came from Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, who revealed through both an Action-Time Report and an interview with Famitsu and 4Gamer that there will be four more character episode DLCs coming to the game. And they’ll go into 2019 with them.
So, that now raises the question? Who are the characters that are getting the spotlight this time around? Well, Tabata revealed that Ardyn Izunia will be getting an episode, and in fact, he was the most requested character to get an episode.
The other reveal is that of Lunafreya, or just “Episode Luna” as Tabata called it. Which was also a major request by fans of the game. It should be noted though that these episodes likely won’t “fill in the gaps” of Final Fantasy XV’s story, as Tabata and team don’t think that fans want that anymore. And while that does make sense to an extent, it does make you wonder where and when these episodes will take place in the timeline.
And, of course, the other question is about who the other two episodes will be about. The game isn’t lacking for characters, like a certain mechanic that everyone likes, so, who will get the final two spots?
There’s no word on when the first episode will release, but we suspect it’ll be within the next few months.
