It’s not uncommon for video games to grow far beyond what the intentions were for the titles. Sometimes, something within the game itself becomes so beloved or applauded that the development team works hard to make it even greater, or make it a standalone title. Mario started this with all of his spinoffs, The Witcher 3 had it with GWENT, and now, Final Fantasy XV has it with its…fishing? Yes, as odd as it sounds the fishing in the game was so good, they decided to make something special with it. But in a twist, it’s with VR.
Final Fantasy XV: Monster of the Deep puts you back in the role of Noctis and his friends, but this time, you’re fishing for some BIG game. And we mean REALLY BIG game! You’ll start out small of course, but soon, you’ll venture to ponds, rivers, lakes, and even the very oceans of their worlds, all in the name of fishing challenges. And as you get better, the game you hunt will grow. All of which leads to you trying to get the biggest catch of them all.
And because this is VR, it’ll be a true hands-on experience that you won’t forget, and the visuals of the PS VR will help immerse you in the game like never before. You’ll sense and feel the tug of the line, you’ll feel like the fish you caught is right in front of you, that you’re really fishing alongside your friends, and more. You will need two Move controllers, or have a Dualshock 4 controller to play this game alongside your PS VR, so be ready for that.
The game is available for pre-order now, though there’s no official release date for the game. Don’t miss out on this though if you have the hardware, or you’ll miss the big catch.
