Fire Emblem has become a primary IP for Nintendo in the last year, with the launch of Fire Emblem Fates Conquest and Birthright. Now, for Nintendo Switch, Fire Emblem Warriors has been announced, and it’s slated to bring one of the best action-packed hack and slash IPs of all time to the wonderful world of Fire Emblem.
We’ve seen this done previously with Hyrule Warriors, which combined this same genre of play with the expansive world of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda.
The new Warriors title, which was announced at the Nintendo Switch event last week, is one of many interesting new titles announced for the console. There will be a Nintendo Direct tomorrow at 5pm EST focusing exclusively on Fire Emblem. I’d be willing to place a wager that we’ll be getting some gameplay footage of the new Warriors title, as well as some DLC for the recently released Fates.
I’d hope that we’ll at the very least receive info on some of the characters we’ll be seeing in the hack and slash spinoff title. Lucina and Chrom will likely be present, as well as some of the more prominent Lord characters who are featured in the ever so popular fighting series Super Smash Bros.
If Roy, Marth, and Ike are present, we’ll perhaps see a lot of the same growing fanbase as we did during the release of the Smash Bros titles.
The Fire Emblem Direct will be available to watch tomorrow at 5pm EST on Nintendo’s website.
