Atlus has announced the first English version gameplay live stream for their upcoming title Persona 5. This is the latest console release in a series which has spawned spin-offs in Japan, including manga and stage plays.
From images of the Japanese release, it looks like fans of the Persona series will be treated to a game featuring up-to-date graphics and a new story, without compromising the style of earlier titles. Newcomers to the series are likely to enjoy the combination of two distinct styles of gameplay. The “slice of life” style daytime gameplay features Tokyo high school students attending classes and making friends. That may sound mundane, but these interactions have subtle ways of influencing your characters abilities in battle. The game shifts by night into battles with demons in dungeons. The combat system like others in the series, combines classic, turn-based RPG elements with some creative innovations.
Persona 5 Live Stream November 16th
The event will take place Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 12PM PST (8PM GMT), available at http://twitch.tv/atlususa. The event promises to be “full of special guests, prizes, and announcements,” though you’ll have to tune in to find out what that means. Atlus released the official trailer for Persona 5 in June at E3, and the game in Japan in September. The game is due for a February 2017 release on PS3 and PS4 in North America and Europe, though it is currently available for pre-order via http://atlus.com/persona5.
