What was considered by many as the most highly anticipated game of the year, Destiny 2 hasn’t been without its critics. The latest entry from Bungie has come under fire from many fans for a number of reasons, depending which side of the fence you fall on. Some feel there is a lack of grind, some feel there’s too much. Others are disappointed with the lack of end-game content, and in this particular case, a lack of reward from the game’s multiplayer foundations.
There has been complaints from fans that even performing at an adequate level isn’t rewarding enough to continue on playing the game. There is an interesting opinion on this from a self-confessed Rainbow Six: Siege player on Reddit known as MisterWalterWhite, who feels that Destiny 2 puts too much emphasis on team shooting. The user delves deeper into other issues that have been a dampener on their experience:
From my experience no one is playing multiplayer for enjoyment. Majority of matches have people leaving leading to unbalanced, boring, one-sided games. If someone realizes early on that they won’t complete a challenge, or milestone they just back out and find an easier lobby. There is clearly something wrong.
The issue of team shooting may well be a fair point, as pointed out by Danimal1942:
basically the combination of longer ttk and reducing power and frequency of grenades / supers puts way too much of an emphasis on team shooting.
We did hear how the player base of Destiny 2 took a nosedive prior to the launch of the game on PC, which appears to have improved very little, with many still in multiplayer games with a lack of presence. So needless to say, the newly released sequel isn’t without its critics.
