The Battle Royale mode in Fortnite continues to make a massive impact in the respective genre, and the latest update from Epic Games looked to bring further balance to the game’s weaponry.
The latest guns to be tweaked are the assault rifles, with the damage and headshot values altered in the latest update. So far, we have seen each rifle see a decrease in its base damage, as well as a reduction in the headshot multiplier, which has gone down from 2.5 down to two. However, the assault rifle variants such as scoped and burst are excluded from these latest nerfs.
The alteration being made include reducing Common (gray) from 32 to 30, Uncommon (green) from 33 to 31, Rare (blue) from 35 to 33, Epic (purple) from 37 to 35, and Legendary (gold) from 39 to 36.
This update is the second to be rolled out in the last fortnight (no pun intended), with SMGs having changes made last week. However, these were subject to buffs with damage increases, as well as a new suppressed version of the weapon.
As for the assault rifle nerf, it’s more than likely to be the last update for a short time, given they’ve had a fair few in such a short period, plus with the holiday period coming up. Nevetheless, we can be sure that Epic Games are on hand to make sure Fortnite continues to run smoothly by consistenly monitoring the game’s performance.
