Fans who have played Fortnite on PC may have noticed a new feature recently. We recently learned that Epic Games will be working on what they consider the weaker areas of the battle royale aspect of the game, one of which revolves around the social aspects that come with it.
From playing on PC, you may have noticed that there is a new Custom Matchmaking button that has appeared in-game. This is because Epic Games has announced that they are heading to the Dreamhack event to test out a form of private matches this weekend:
“We’re using private matches at this event to see how we can provide both fun and competitive, “special” events for you in the future.”
Until then, Epic are aware that there are many different uses to be applied for private matches. Therefore, they have encouraged fans to let the team know what kind of private matches that they would like to see, and how the feature should be utilized to the best of its capabilities.
We also know that Fortnite will be bringing other stronger social features, such as bringing friends over from social media channels for you to play with, as well as reconnecting you with players that you may have met online and had a good game with.
Fortnite is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
