War games are very popular in the video game industry. Heck, one of the biggest franchises out there is Call of Duty, which is about to release a new title soon. But, sometimes you need to go over the usual kind of gameplay and delve into something special and unique, and that’s what Foxhole is doing on Steam via Steam Early Access. They use what they call “Persistent World Warfare” to bring the war genre to an MMO setting. And they’re constantly updating the game to make it better.
One such update was uploaded yesterday, and it brought not only new features to Foxhole, but also gave many players what they were asking for. For example, during a recent update they made a bunch of amphibious vehicles available to the player. But, players also wanted a way to make beach landings more “viable”. So, the team has made and now uploaded a gunboat! This mid-range ship will allow you to bombard the shoreline to help make it easier for your soldiers to land on it.
Then, the other big addition was one of a new map called Westgate. While this is a very symmetrical map, the team wanted to spice things up by giving players the chance to do something special. So, Westgate has multiple strategic ways to try and get the jump on your enemies. You can try and get over a giant wall, you can try and use the massive coastline to your advantage, or, you can try and take control of a nearby island and use it to stage attacks. It’s all up to you.
Other features include brand-new campaigns, refined server queues, resource balancing, and more. So, be sure to read the full Patch Notes for the full detail list.
In the meantime, war awaits, and your actions help define it. So get to it soldier!
