Indie developers The Game Bakers have announced that they will be bringing their fast-paced action hit Furi to Nintendo Switch.
If you are yet to experience Furi, it is a game based on tension as you go into one-on-one battles against intimidating enemies in an enigmatic quest for freedom. Furi is praised by fans and critics alike for the potent cocktail mix of sword fighting and twin-stick shooting. It has been described by critics as a stylish and engaging affair, as well as being tight and empowering, so much so that it garnered a 92% positive user review on Steam.
Creative director Emeric Thoa states:
“Furi is a game that’s constantly taunting you. There is something deeply personal about a boss fight: it’s just you against one opponent. And being interrupted is even more frustrating than losing. But with the Switch, you can take the game and all of its boss fights with you wherever you go.”
Creator of Afro Samuria, Takashi Okazaki, is responsible for the unique character design and stylish aesthetic, partnered with a fantastic soundtrack by the likes of Carpenter Brut, Danger and other electro musicians, in what is an homage to other popular Japanese action games such as Metal Gear Solid and Godhand.
